Swedish Massage
A Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. Swedish Massage is beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle tension, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.
It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy is a specific type of therapy that incorporates the use of scented essential oils into a massage. The massage involves alternating between gentle and harder pressure while using a specific blend of essential oils. The essential oils are diluted before use and are applied along with lotion during the massage. Hot Stone Massage
This type of complementary massage therapy warmth and cold – a technique which has proven beneficial to soothe an aching body. There’s a method behind the madness of leaping from a toasty sauna into an icy pool, and hot stone massage uses the same principle.
Hot stone massage therapy combines relaxing warmth and refreshing coolness to encourage the body to detox and heal. This also increases lymph flow and helps to flush out waste.
Heat relaxes your body in a short space of time, so your massage therapist can focus on a deep working of the tissues using both hot stones and hand strokes.
Hot stones also increase your sense of relaxation and calm. They are coated in fragrant oil which is smoothed gently onto your body, and each stone in turn is worked by your therapist’s hands. The heated stones are placed on the chakra points to align and balance the energy centres, benefiting the whole body and mind.
